My name is Sara. This is my story of how I chose to become a surrogate and my journey:
I first was interested in surrogacy in 2012 when a close friend was looking into it and told me all about it. At that time, I didn’t think it was right for me and never finished the application process. But then in February of 2017, I had actually stumbled upon an ad for Elite Women Surrogacy. I researched into the company; reading blogs, checking out their social media, their process of surrogacy, and its requirements. I felt such good vibes from the company and immediately had a strong urge to fill out the application. Not very many days later, I received a call that they were interested in my application and I was ecstatic. I was ready to start my journey!
Let me be honest, surrogacy is complicated and it’s not something to take lightly. You need to have a strong desire, faith and knowledge of the process, and a strong support system. You will have people who will support you and think that what you are doing is amazing. But then you’ll have others who won’t even know what it is, let alone understand why you’d want to do it. I loved talking to those “nonbelievers” because I was able to show them the confidence, passion and love that I have for surrogacy. I have been blessed with a healthy body, so why WOULDN’T I want to be the piece to the puzzle to help bless a family be completed?
As a mother, I know that pregnancy is not a walk in the park. I know that there is sickness, discomfort, sleepless nights, crazy hormones, cravings, weight gain or loss, and many more symptoms. But I also know the pure happiness and love I receive being a parent. I wanted to be able to help someone receive that love as well, no matter if it meant that I had to endure the pregnancy symptoms. My 9 months of being pregnant actually went by very quickly!
When I saw the mother hold her child for the first time, I felt overwhelming joy! I knew that it would all be worth it to see and feel that love radiating. I made new memories, relationships, and learned many things that I will never forget. It was so rewarding to be a part of such a beautiful experience. I loved being a surrogate mother and hope to someday help another family.
Elite Women Surrogacy is an extraordinary group of ladies that are with you through every step of your surrogacy journey. I asked a million questions, bothered them at random times throughout the day, and leaned on them multiple times for support. They are amazing women and I wouldn’t have been able to have this experience without them!!!
